Vintage:

The 2006 vintage was yet another year of perfect grape growing weather in Washington State. After a wetter than normal Spring, a long, hot summer blossomed, decreasing the quantity harvested, but increasing the quality. Autumn was ideal with dry and warm conditions, marking harvest pleasant and flavors perfect.

Winemaking:

The Kamiak White pulls from the best of all worlds. Tank fermented Sauvignon Blanc is used to give this wine it’s backbone of mouthwatering acidity. Barrel fermented Chardonnay provides the structure and elegance. Last but not least the Gewürztraminer brings a hint of sweetness on the palate and spiciness on the nose making this an extremely approachable wine.

Winemaker Comments:

Aromas of apricot and peach, combined with a bit of citrus waft from the swirling glass. The palate experiences the crispness of a freshly picked apple and a bit of melon. A spicy note can be attributed to the Gewürztraminer, as well as the hint of sweetness. This wine is reminiscent of the proprietary blend known as “Spiceling” that was produced years ago by Gordon Brothers. This wine is quite versatile and will pair with everything from appetizers to shellfish and poultry dishes. Try it with a fresh baked apple pie.
